No one hurt as child's mattress sets off Ahuntsic fire

Two families had to leave their homes on Christmas night when a fire ravaged their duplex in Ahuntsic.
No one was hurt in the fire that broke out at 8:40 p.m. in the Vianney Ave. building. Montreal Fire Department operations chief Benoît Martel said the fire started on the building’s second floor. A mattress caught fire in a child’s room. On Tuesday morning, firefighters were still investigating the cause of the fire.
The building had a working smoke detector, and the two famil
