Motorcyclist gets 18 demerit points, licence suspended for driving twice the speed limit
A motorcyclist was fined $1,789, got 18 demerit points and had his licence suspended for seven days on Tuesday afternoon after a Sûreté du Québec officer caught him driving at twice the speed limit on Highway 138.
The motorcyclist, a 23-year-old from Valleyfield, was driving on a section of the highway near Rankin Rd. in Godmanchester when the officer clocked him doing more than 185 kilometres per hour in a zone where the speed limit is 90 kilometres per hour.
