Motion challenges legality of evidence in Project Malbec wine case

The former owner of a wine store based in Kahnawake is challenging the legality of some of the evidence gathered in a Montreal police investigation into an alleged tax fraud scheme. 
Charges were filed against 13 people more than two years ago and a trial date has yet to be set in the case involving Project Malbec, an investigation by the Montreal police unit Actions concertée pour contrer les économies souterraines (ACCES), which specializes in contraband.
