Montreal's unemployment rate reaches record low in December

Montreal’s unemployment rate declined to 5.3 per cent in December, down from 6.1 per cent in November, according to single-month, seasonally adjusted Statistics Canada data released on Friday. 
That’s the lowest unemployment rate in the Montreal census metropolitan area since at least January 2001. Before that, different geographic boundaries were used, making comparisons difficult.
