Montreal's Bixi bikes set record: Free monthly Sundays are back!

The popularity of Montreal’s Bixi bikes has soared by 35 per cent since the season started April 10, compared to the same period in 2017.
Last year was a record year for the bike-sharing service, with 4.8 million trips made, a 25-per-cent increase over 2016.
Pierre Parent, director of marketing, communication and partnership for Bixi, said he hopes ridership reaches 5 million trips this year.
Some 6,250 bikes are available at 540 stations across the city.
