Montreal snow-removal operations begin 7 p.m. Thursday

For the fifth time this winter, the city of Montreal will begin a city-wide snow removal operation.
The operation will begin at 7 p.m. Thursday. Normally, the work takes five days to complete.
City officials had been unsure whether snow removal would be necessary; some of the 15 centimetres or so that fell on the city had begun to melt in temperatures above freezing.
However, temperatures are forecast to drop to as low as -7 C by Saturday.
