Montreal, Quebec unemployment rate edges up as Canada posts job growth

Unemployment edged up slightly in Montreal, and the province as a whole in the latest job numbers unveiled Friday by Statistics Canada.
Montreal’s unemployment rate edged up to 6.4 per cent from 6.3 per cent the previous month, and the Quebec-wide jobless rate increased to  6.1 per cent from 5.8 per cent. Quebec now has the fourth-lowest unemployment rate in the country.
