Montreal is autonomous, says mayor in response to reasonable accommodation debate

Montreal Mayor Denis Coderre reaffirmed the city’s position against Quebec’s religious neutrality law during an executive committee meeting Wednesday morning.
“We have always said that it is not up to a government, no matter which, to decide how our employees will dress, how we will render services,” he said. “We are all OK with faces being covered while providing services.”
