Montreal bid-rigging case yields $375,000 in fines

A Montreal ventilation firm has been fined $375,000 after pleading guilty to bid rigging in connection to three co-op projects in the city.
Canada’s Competition Bureau charged the Cardinal Ventilation company and five of its executives in 2010. At the time, the bureau said it had evidence that a group of ventilation, air conditioning and heating firms corrupted the bidding process to determine which company would get the contract.
