Montreal approves $1.3-billion plan to buy 963 STM buses

Montreal’s executive committee on Wednesday approved a $1.3-billion plan to buy 963 new transit buses.
The air-conditioned buses — 929 hybrid and 34 all-electric — will be purchased between 2019 and 2024, said Craig Sauvé, a city councillor who is vice-president of the Société de transport de Montréal.
The purchases include the extra 300 that Mayor Valerie Plante’s Projet Montréal promised during the election campaign, he said.
