Montreal Alouettes release all-star linebacker Bear Woods
LENNOXVILLE — Last season Bear Woods was the outstanding defensive player in the East Division.
But today the veteran non-import middle linebacker is unemployed.
In a surprising move, the Alouettes released Woods, 30, Monday morning — after only one day of training camp.
New general manager Kavis Reed and head coach Jacques Chapdelaine, who took over with six games remaining last season, are definitely putting their stamp on a team that hasn’t made the playoffs since 2014.
