Metrolinx cuts Bombardier light-rail contract by more than half

Metrolinx, the Toronto-area regional transit agency, has reduced the number of light-rail cars it will buy from Bombardier by more than half, it said on Thursday.
Originally, the $770-million deal called for Metrolinx to buy 182 vehicles for its Eglinton Crosstown light rail transit line. Now, Metrolinx said it has reduced the order to 76 vehicles.
