McGill library offers peek 'inside Jean Drapeau's mind'

Jean Drapeau didn’t like to talk about them, but behind the scenes, he picked up a pen and carefully circled the numbers in his personal copy of the Malouf report — the conclusions of a three-year public inquiry into the financial fiasco that was the 1976 Montreal Olympics.
Using a black pen, Montreal’s longest-serving mayor circled Olympic cost estimates, starting with his own original lowball figure in 1969 ($120 million) and ending in 1975 ($730 million).
