Man in critical condition after assault in downtown Montreal

A 19-year-old man is in critical condition after he was assaulted at the corner of St-Laurent Blvd. and Sherbrooke St. W., according to police.
Police say two men were attacked around 3:45 a.m. The assailants had fled before police arrived and the circumstances of the attack are unknown.
Both suffered head injuries, however the second victim, a 20-year-old man, was not severely injured.
