Living by yourself? You're not alone: survey

More than one million Quebecers live by themselves, according to an analysis of the 2016 federal census by the province’s Institute of Statistics.
The total — 1.2 million — represents 17 per cent of Quebec’s population over the age of 15, and continues a growing trend that has been evident since 1981, when just eight per cent of the population described itself as living alone in a primary residence.
