Brandon Pirri got in alone and potted his second of the game, 14 minutes into the second period.
Jonathan Marchessault had given the home team a lead 4:51 into the period. Then Phillip Danault’s not-quite-shoulder-high redirection of a Jordie Benn drive tied it at 2-2.
Danault one-timed a Brendan Gallagher feed to open the scoring, 3:41 into the game. The Canadiens dominated the early shot clock, but Marc-Andre Fleury made great stops. And Pirri’s first tied it up at 16:24.
