Laval's Bellus Health raises $35M to develop chronic cough medication

Laval-based Bellus Health has raised $35 million through the sale of new shares in the company, it said on Tuesday.
Bellus said it plans to use the money to continue development of BLU-5937, a drug candidate that it believes could be used to treat chronic coughs — coughs that last more than eight weeks.
The company has completed Phase 1 clinical trials of the potential drug and said the results showed that BLU-5937 was as effective as its leading competitor, a drug candidate being develope
