Lac-Mégantic accused called 'conscientious, competent'
SHERBROOKE — The morning of the Lac-Mégantic rail disaster, Montreal, Maine and Atlantic employee Steve Jacques walked into the company’s Farnham offices oblivious to what had happened during the night.
There, only hours after the deadly derailment, he found veteran railway traffic controller Richard Labrie.
Though usually organized and orderly, Labrie was in disarray. Documents were all over the place. His face, void of any colour, seemed to be decaying.
