Judge's past comments questioned during manslaughter sentencing

A Quebec Court Judge has been placed in the rare and very awkward position of having to determine if comments she made in the past, when she was a defence lawyer, are evidence she was prejudiced against police officers when she convicted one of manslaughter last year. 
In September, Judge Joëlle Roy found Éric Deslauriers guilty of manslaughter in the death of a 17-year-old boy he shot while on duty in Ste-Adele in 2014. Deslauriers, a Sûreté du Québec consta
