Independent Budget Office would discourage 'number wars': city hall opposition

Montreal needs an Independent Budget Office to provide unbiased analyses of city spending and “depoliticize” municipal finances, city hall opposition leader Lionel Perez said Monday.
Perez said such a body would “elevate the debate” and help avoid “number wars” between political parties, particularly during and after election campaigns.
