'I had to do something': Mosque shooter said he acted to prevent terrorism
QUEBEC – Alexandre Bissonnette told a police officer that the decision by the Canadian government to accept refugees that were being turned away from the United States spurred his decision to shoot people at the Quebec City mosque.
Terrified that his family would be the victim of an attack, he left his parents’ home and headed to the mosque, carrying a rifle and a handgun.
