How costuming is a reflection of Caribbean ancestry, soul

In a Villeray apartment, Matthew Veloza Quiterio is working tirelessly to finish more than 200 costumes for Saturday’s Carifiesta parade.
The carnival-style festival, which will begin downtown at noon on July 8, celebrates Caribbean culture. Much of that culture, Veloza Quiterio said, is expressed in the costumes. He is the president of Montreal Caribbean Vibrations, one of the groups participating in this year’s parade.
