In the 1980s, Pierre Giguère was working up North and happened to visit a sawmill. He was struck by the beauty of the long wooden beams and planks produced there.So when the time came to build a home for his family, he chose a log home and commissioned Ste-Agathe’s Les Maisons D’autrefois, which made prefab kits in those days (the company is no longer in business).
