Héma-Québec asks new mothers to donate surplus breast milk
Quebec’s bank of breast milk is facing a lack of donors.
The reserve, managed by Héma-Québce, was created in 2014 to provide milk to infants born prematurely — defined as 32 weeks gestation or less — or whose mother struggles to produce enough milk for her child.
In an ideal situation, the organization would be able to count on 300 donors. Now, they have a little less than 200.
