From the archives: Montreal put on airs for a Canadian first

On Monday next a balloon ascension will take place from this City. Mr. Godard, the celebrated aeronaut, will be accompanied by his wife and two or three citizens. The balloon is now on exhibition at the City Concert Hall, when all who please can witness for themselves. This will be the first balloon ascension that has taken place in Canada, and we are sure a large concourse of people will be assembled to see off and wish t
