Frigid waters were no match for determined fundraisers

Wearing costumes and uniforms of all shapes and sizes, 36 teams jumped into the frigid waters of Lac St-Louis near the Lachine Canoe Club and raised $55,000 for the Special Olympics Québec, Feb. 17.
Participants in the Polar Bear Plunge jumped into the water feet first and paddled their way at top speed, across the large rectangle cut in the ice, to ladders set up at the opposite side. The teams were comprised of law enforcement officers, corporate managers and employees and Special Olymp
