Fraud repayments should be returned to taxpayers: Montreal opposition

The municipal opposition is calling on Montreal to use money repaid by companies that defrauded taxpayers to reduce property tax bills.
Opposition Leader Lionel Perez also called on Mayor Valérie Plante to reveal how much the city has received under a voluntary repayment program created in November 2015 that gave companies and individuals an opportunity to reimburse money from public contracts obtained through collusion, bid-rigging or other fraudulent acts.
