Francophones wait longer for reply from Ottawa: language commissioner
Francophones have to wait longer than anglophones to receive services in their language from the federal government, according to Ottawa’s official languages commissioner.
The finding by Raymond Théberge, who has been in the post since last January, was contained in the commissioner’s annual report filed on Tuesday.
The report examined 10 federal institutions and their response times in providing services in both official languages online, on the telephone and in person.
