Five-alarm fire tears through Pointe-St-Charles triplex

More than 125 firefighters battled a five-alarm blaze in a triplex in Pointe-St-Charles district Tuesday afternoon.
The fire, whose cause is still unknown, started in the basement at 2695 Saint Charles St. before spreading through the rest of the building and adjacent properties.
Firefighters evacuated the buildings of about 20 residents, said Sylvain Legros, the Montreal Fire Department’s chief of operations.
