Fire in Longueuil high rise complex forces 200 into street

A fire that broke out in the electrical room linking two high rise apartment blocks forced 200 of the complex’s residents into the street early Wednesday.
The evacuation took place in an orderly fashion despite the cold. There were no injuries reported and residents were able to return to their homes before sunrise.
Longueuil’s fire department said the fire broke out at about 2:45 a.m. for reasons that have yet to be determined.
Smoke was detected on many of the floors of the complex
