Filipina caregiver hasn't seen a penny despite Quebec Human Rights ruling

The Centre for Research-Action on Race Relations has won a precedent-setting decision by the Quebec Human Rights Commission ordering an employer to pay a Filipina live-in caregiver $41,600 for violating her rights.
But despite the ruling, the live-in caregiver, Gelyn Dasoc-Hilot, has not received a cent because the employer has only offered an out-of-court settlement of $2,000, said CRARR executive director Fo Niemi.
