Fewer Quebecers getting married, and those who are marry later
New statistics released by the Quebec government show just under 22,000 marriages took place in Quebec in 2016, down slightly from the previous year.
The some 22,000 marriages in 2016 were made up of 21,300 opposite-sex and 700 same-sex marriages. The province recorded 22,441 marriages in 2015.
