Father Emmett Johns: Hundreds gather to mourn 'Pops'

They came from all walks of life to attend a ceremony dubbed a “celebration of love.”
Many of the hundreds who attended the funeral for Father Emmett Johns — better known as Pops — at St. Patrick’s Basilica Saturday morning, talked about the unconditional love he displayed for street kids, many of whom had described themselves as lost causes.
“He saved my life,” a woman named Talasia said through tears in an homage to Johns during the ceremony.
