Fariha Naqvi-Mohamed: Islamophobia is real and should be recognized

To mark the first anniversary of the Quebec City mosque shooting last week, vigils were held, and words of support and solidarity for the families of the victims were expressed. Our elected officials stood shoulder to shoulder with Canadians nationwide in the January cold to express their condolences.
These acts of solidarity meant a lot to the families of the victims, the greater Muslim community and Canadians across the country.
