Fall forecast: Subpar September foreshadowed by cool nights in Montreal

Far east on the border of Quebec and Labrador, Canadians witnessed quite a sight Thursday night: snowflakes. It was a reminder that yes — winter is coming. 
Royal Newfoundland Constabulary officers tweeted about the snowfall and issued warnings to those travelling on Route 500.
Some were so surprised, Canadian Press reports, they thought it might have been fake news.
But Amelie Bertrand, a spokesperson for Environment Canada, confirmed Friday the snow reports were indeed real news.&nb
