Downtown Montreal, South Shore hit by power outages

Hydro-Québec repair crews have been dispatched to deal with a series of power outages affecting 40,000 customers in Montreal’s downtown as well as in Longueuil and St-Lambert on the South Shore.
The blackouts, which began at about 11 a.m., are being blamed on an equipment failure and the power utility says it hopes to have to outages repaired between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m.
