Defenceman Shea Weber is the Montreal Canadiens' new captain

Shea Weber is the new captain of the Canadiens.
The club announced before practice Monday morning in Brossard that Weber will be the 30th captain in franchise history with Brendan Gallagher and Paul Byron as his alternates.
Weber replaces Max Pacioretty, who was traded to the Vegas Golden Knights this summer.
The 33-year-old Weber was acquired from the Nashville Predators two years ago in exchange for P.K. Subban. Weber underwent off-season knee surgery and isn’t expected to be ready to pl
