Defence in Contrecoeur trial rests, final arguments expected in January

The Contrecoeur fraud trial may be nearing an end, nearly two years after it began.
The defence rested its case this week, and dates were set for Court of Quebec Judge Yvan Poulin, who is overseeing the trial, to hear final arguments from the prosecution and the defence in mid-January.
The trial of former Montreal city executive committee chairman Frank Zampino, businessman Paolo Catania and four former executives of Catania’s construction firm began in February 2016.
