Concussed Valerie Maltais withdraws from Olympic selection tournament

A concussion forced Quebec’s Valerie Maltais withdrew from the competition to select Canada’s 2018 short-track speed skating team on Saturday.
She suffered the injury during a fall in the semifinal round of the second 500-metre event on Wednesday, which left her with moderate concussive symptoms.
The selection tournament is being held at Maurice Richard Arena in Montreal.
