QUEBEC – Premier Philippe Couillard says Ottawa’s response to Quebec’s request for more assistance in managing hundreds of asylum seekers landing at the province’s borders is completely unacceptable.
And he has reminded Ottawa that managing the borders is a federal responsibility and it’s for Ottawa’s ministers to spend more time in the field and see the reality of things and how overtaxed Quebec’s front-line health and education services are already.
