Chinese immigrants top figures in Pointe-Claire, Kirkland and Lachine
New census figures showing the country of origin of immigrants reveals that Chinese account for significant numbers in several West Island communities.
Chinese made up the largest group of immigrant populations in Pointe-Claire, Kirkland and Lachine, according to 2016 Census report figures.
In Pointe-Claire (population: 30,060), 890 Chinese immigrants account for 11.2 per cent of the city’s overall immigrant population of 7,945.
