Canadiens' Phillip Danault fined $5,000 for tripping Panthers' Aaron Ekblad

TAMPA — Phillip Danault has been fined $5,000 for the “dangerous tripping” of Florida Panthers defenceman Aaron Ekblad in Friday’s game in Sunrise, Fla. The NHL said the fine is the maximum allowed under the league’s collective bargaining agreement.
