Canadiens forward Jake Evans undergoes sports hernia surgery
The Montreal Canadiens announced that forward Jake Evans underwent surgery Wednesday to repair a sports hernia (abdominal wall muscle tear).
David Mulder, the Canadiens’ team doctor, performed the procedure at the Montreal General Hospital. Evans’s recovery period is expected to be 12 weeks.
Evans, 21, was selected in the 7th round, 207th overall by the Habs in 2014. He agreed to a two-year entry level contract on April 9.
