Can Lou Lamoriello keep John Tavares with the Islanders?

The New York Islanders announced Tuesday morning that Lou Lamoriello is their new president of hockey operations and will have full authority over all hockey matters with the organization.  
Lamoriello, 75, was replaced by Kyle Dubas as general manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs on May 11 and took a position as a consultant with the team that didn’t last very long.
