Brownstein: William Weintraub, Montreal writer, filmmaker, historian

Montreal has lost another yet another original: writer, filmmaker, historian and — in spite of his geniality — occasional provocateur: William Weintraub passed away Monday night at the age of 91.
Ironically, news of his death came around the same time the city was fêting another of its famed cultural sons, Leonard Cohen, in a tribute concert at the Bell Centre marking the one-year anniversary of his passing.
Though ailing and hobbled in recent years, Weintraub, even after the d
