Brownstein: Checking the municipal election winds in Île-Bizard

Île-Bizard is a cozy little bedroom community with a population of around 15,000. Its people come from all over the cultural and economic map, with houses ranging from low-cost cottages to high-end châteaux like the one previously occupied by Pauline Marois.
Industry is on the light side, with restos and boutiques as well as larger supermarkets and drug stores. The island is also home to three of the best golf courses around: Royal Montreal, Elm Ridge and St-Raphaël.
