Bixi posts $654,000 surplus for 2016

Bixi, Montreal’s sometimes controversial bicycle sharing program, announced Wednesday it had posted a $654,075 surplus for its 2016 operating season.
The annual results, made public during a meeting of Montreal’s executive committee, are a result of revenue from memberships and advertising exceeding budgeted expectations, but also include $2.9 million in support from the city of Montreal.
