Puglia Igt 2015, Primitivo, Atlas, Tommasi Surani, Italy red, $15.95, SAQ # 13366546. Organic. Sweet red fruit that still remains quite crisp. Doesn’t have that dark and raisiny feel of primitivo’s sibling zinfandel at all; rather, it’s remarkably fresh and easy drinking. Maybe the touch of residual sugar adds some extra body, but this works just fine. Grape variety: primitivo. Residual sugar: 5.2 g/L. Serve at: 16 C. Drink now. Food pairing idea: pepper steak.
