Beaconsfield sends firm message with increased fines for cutting trees
Beaconsfield wants citizens to know it means business when it comes to protecting its canopy.
Council has adopted a bylaw which increases the fines levied when a resident either prunes an ash tree or cuts down a tree without obtaining a permit.
The fine for felling a tree without a permit has ballooned from $500 to $2,000. And the fine for pruning or trimming an ash tree without a permit increases from $750 to $2,000.
