Aussant wins PQ nomination in Pointe-aux-Trembles

Parti Québécois members in Pointe-aux-Trembles have chosen former Option nationale founder Jean-Martin Aussant as their candidate in next October’s provincial election.
Aussant, a former PQ MNA, defeated Maxime Laporte, president of Société St. Jean Baptiste, in a vote held on Sunday afternoon. Aussant won 64 per cent of the votes cast.
He had the support of PQ Leader Jean-François Lisée, while Laporte earned the endorsement of former premier Berna
